Only rear wheels driving in both positions. 150 hours, and 4wd was working before. I saw the lever is attached with a set screw at the tranny, I'm going to go and see if the lever moved on the shaft. Otherwise, I thought I'd post now in case I can't get it to work and someone has a solution.

My 4wd-linkage let loose inside the diff and required removal of an axle housing--thanks to a previous owner. Well I should have wondered why the 4wd lever was welded onto its collar when I bought the tractor. That was my fault, not the tractor's. ....

The subject hasn't come up here recently. There should be several good discussions in the archives. The basic key is that the equipment is expensive and it has to be kept busy to make any money, which is a little tough unless there's a ready to go customer base. Rent or leasing also is expensive. Maintenance and insurance budgets kill many start-up ideas. ....

Unless you have some sort of long term experience in doing excavating it will be a tough move to make. Allot of excavation is a pretty exact science, and takes a good eye and steady hand to get the job done right. To get started though if you do not have any equipment yet you might want to look at a Kubota l 48 they are very versatile and industrial grade to handle commercial applications. ....
